Survey: many want to continue working from home

Most people enjoy working from home. 70 percent have said this in a survey conducted by Novus on behalf of the central organization for salaried employees (TCO).

– For many, it has created a better work-life balance, says Therese Svanström, President of TCO.

“It can be a challenge”

Although the majority, nine out of ten, have stated that they want to continue working from home at least one day a week, it is still one in ten who only wants to do so in exceptional cases. Perhaps one factor may be social interaction with colleagues, which 80 percent say they lack.

– It is part that you should feel good and develop at work too, then social interaction is needed. Collaboration can be challenging when you’re sitting in different places and edges. The job can be more difficult and it becomes more protected.

Hard to turn off

The work environment at home has also been a problem. 27 percent of those surveyed had back, shoulder or neck pain problems. These are problems that people have not had before.

– You have also seen that it can create stress, that instead you work too much. When are you going home from work? You must have an active dialogue with the employer because it is always the employer’s responsibility to have a good working environment, says Therese Svanström.
