A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Stock Photography.
A 55-year-old man was assaulted Monday afternoon by a younger man, who wounded him with a sharp object. The incident happened in the center of Jönköping, and a nearby vacant police officer saw what was happening.
The police alerted their colleagues and pursued the attacker.
– Several patrols were ordered there and the vacant police arrested the suspect, says Dennis Johansson Strömberg, press spokesman for the police.
The injured man was taken by ambulance to hospital. The police do not know how bad the man is, but the criminal offense is attempted murder. A paw patrol searched in the afternoon and at night for the shelter used by the attacker in the attack.
– As far as I know, they haven’t found anything so far, says Johansson Strömberg.
The detainee, a man in his 35s, had previously been convicted of a crime.
