Mjällby: Nabil Bahoui decides for AIK in the last seconds

Nabil Bahoui missed point-blank range and threw a rock-hard ball to the crossbar.

But the first half between AIK and Mjällby ended goalless.

In the second half, it was AIK who set out to score the winning goal and threw posts into the offensive penalty area. The home crowd was unimpressed by Mjällby’s Eric Björkander’s graceful play after 73 minutes.

AIK seemed content to score an important point in the Allsvenskan baseline battle when Henok Goitom missed a near-open goal with just over ten minutes to go.

Nabil Bahoui decided against Mjällby

But when extra time ended, AIK had to make one last corner and then Nabil Bahoui was in the right place and nodded at 1-0.

In an interview with Dplay, he dedicated the goal to his son, with whom he usually coaches nods, and then says the pressure came from other places in the family as well.

– I don’t usually read what is written and so on, but there was a bit of pressure from my father at home. Four or five games from the start and no points, so after that it’s started to fall, says Bahoui.

– He said that there have already been four or five games without points, so it is time to start doing something. Then he said it, maybe in some other words, Bahoui continues to laugh.

How does your body feel when you run out and celebrate the goal?

– It was a good move for the team and I am happy that we win.

According to Karlsson historically at AIK again

How do you experience the goal?

– My strength is not to score with a head, but I have worked a little, but then the three points are the important thing considering the seat we are in.

The AIK now rises to 24 points, three points more than IFK Gothenburg and Helsingborg in the qualifiers. The team also has a less played game.

On the home team, Per Karlsson also became historic. He made his 322nd match at Allsvenskan with AIK and is therefore the player who has made the most appearances for the club at Allsvenskan. In July, he also became the player who played the most games for the club overall.

Mjällby is ninth in the Allsvenskan with 28 points.
