Patrik Sjöberg is charged with speeding after being stopped in his Porsche.

The high jump legend drove at least 90 miles per hour on Highway 110 according to police information.

He himself denies the crime and therefore the case has been prosecuted.

On June 10, Patrik Sjöberg, 55, was stopped by the police at E4 on the outskirts of Linköping.

The measured speed must have been 146 kilometers per hour at the speed limit of 110 kilometers per hour.

Patrik Sjöberg is also charged with violating the Road Traffic Tax Act.

The vehicle tax of SEK 1,899 was not paid on time for the car in question.

“Always innocent”

The prosecutor proposes 4,500 SEK in fines as an appropriate sanction.

– I am from Västra Frölunda and you are always innocent, it is in our DNA. You sit in the back of the bus and you just recognize what you have to do, it’s a survival principle. This is so long ago that I have left it behind, says Patrik Sjöberg.

He says his driver’s license was revoked for two months, but has now got it back.

When Sportbladet catches up, he’s driving.
