Dahlias can be seen in hundreds of different ways. What unites them is beauty.
– Besides the fact that frost-sensitive tubers have to be dug up every fall, dahlias are easy to care for, says Kerstin Lilja, one of the members of the dahlias enthusiasts.
Kerstin Lilja is a member of the Dahlia enthusiasts who care for Dahlia Park in Enskede Gård. Flowers are beautiful well into fall. “The Dahlia tuber is sensitive to cold and must be dug up before frost,” says Kerstin Lilja.
The splendor of color is already visible in the distance. In the middle of the villas on the Enskede farm south of Stockholm is an off-the-beaten-path park area. Here is a pasture riding school, a flamboyant colony and a fantastic dahlia garden. In the old meadow, the horses were allowed to make room for flower beds with taller colorful dahlias. It feels almost a bit unreal to walk among the colorful flowers, like being in a fairy tale world.
