When registration for this fall’s college entrance examination opened on Friday, the load on the registration site became too great. At 9 p.m., the record queue was paused and resumed at 8 p.m.
Just over an hour later, the UHR message arrived: a system update has been performed, and the queuing system is now “significantly faster,” it is claimed.
But there are still many waiting. At 9 o’clock there were more than 60,000 people in the queue. To date, more than 10,500 people have been offered a place in the university entrance exam. In total, there are about 27,000 places available.
Tens of thousands in a row
“It is currently estimated that the queue for this fall’s college entrance exam will take several hours,” however it can still be read on the registration page.
– It’s been too long with waiting times, no question about it, says National Test Coordinator Peter Honeth at SVT Helgstudion.
Those who lined up on Friday were allowed to keep their places in line overnight.
Åke Lernefalk says UHR’s goal, after all, is for all registrations to be ready on Saturday.
Cheat
So far, the UHR has also identified 89 cheaters who, thanks to their “deep computer skills,” outgrew the queue. More cheaters wanted.
Many have contacted the College and University Council in frustration. On UHR’s Facebook page, you can read some of the criticism directed at the reporting problem.
“This is under all criticism,” one person wrote in a comment.
“What a super catastrophe. 51 years ago we landed two people on the moon. How hard can it be? Do it again, do it right!” Writes another.

Typically, around 100,000 people sign up for the college entrance exam each year, 40-45 percent of whom are doing so for the first time.
The university entrance exam is usually taken twice a year, once in the fall and once in the spring.
The college entrance examination is a selection exam that, with good results, provides an additional opportunity in addition to the qualification result to enter a popular higher education. It is written mainly by young people who are about to leave high school.
The validity period of the test results has been extended from five to eight years.
