Ann Linde Confirms: Swiss Crypto Stop Behind Relocated Ministerial Meeting

[ad_1]

In October, the foreign ministers of Sweden and Switzerland celebrated 100 years of diplomatic relations between the countries. There will be a dinner hosted by the Swiss Embassy in Stockholm, but there will be no ministerial meeting.

The explanation, which is now confirmed by Ann Linde, is that Switzerland has imposed an export ban on the Swedish-owned company Crypto International (see data box).

– The problem is that Switzerland does not allow the export of goods that would go to Sweden, says Ann Linde (S).

– That worries us and we try to solve it in different ways.

And is there any connection to me postponing the meeting?

– Yes, it is so that it does not fit right now before we are completely clear on the fundamentals of Swiss stocks.

I can’t get support

Ann Linde does not want to answer how the export ban specifically affects the Swedish authorities. She says she can’t even answer if and in which case which authorities use the products.

– These issues concern the cybersecurity of the nation, and that is why I cannot comment because it is confidential.

But according to security experts, the effects could be dire for authorities who have chosen to trust Crypto International products.

– Some Swedish authorities depend on this equipment. When the Swiss authorities withdraw the export license, the Swedish authorities cannot access the equipment, nor do they have the opportunity to receive, for example, support and updates, IT security expert André Catry tells SVT.
