About 20 people in nursing homes in Stockholm have tested positive for COVID-19 recently.

Maria Rotzén Östlund is an infection control physician in the Stockholm region. She tells DN that she thinks a lot of people want the pandemic to end. Therefore, there is a risk that the recommendations of the Swedish Public Health Agency have been abandoned.
– The trend we saw last week with an increase has continued and we take it seriously. The two meters to maintain as a distance seem to have been reduced during the summer, but it is still two meters that apply, he says.
At the end of the month, March / April, the government introduced a restraining order in all nursing homes in the country.
– At the government meeting yesterday, we decided on a restraining order on all nursing homes in the country, said Deputy Prime Minister Isabella Lövin (MP) at a press conference on March 31.
Now, six months later, the government has decided that the restraining order will cease to apply as of October 1.
– It is now quite possible to have nursing home visits, as long as the advice and rules that come from the authorities are followed, state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell said at a news conference Thursday.
