Large parties are prohibited in Denmark

The announcement of new restrictions came on the same day that another 678 cases of corona infection were recorded in Denmark over the course of a day.

Health officials from all parties were summoned to speak with the government in the afternoon.

The number 678 is the highest since the start of the pandemic in March. One in four newly infected people is between the ages of 20 and 29. They belong to the age group that is mostly on the premises and having fun.

In several cases, the so-called “super broadcast” has been found in large entertainment events.

Maximum 50 participants

The ban on large private events applies to parties with more than 50 participants and takes effect at 12 noon on Saturday.

However, the prohibition does not apply to parties organized in private homes. But they are also urged to limit the number of guests.

Weddings, confirmations and other things already planned must be canceled; the government does not approve any exceptions.

– We must stop the parties and activities in the nightlife, says Magnus Heunicke.

– We must change our social interaction if it is not necessary to close the rest of society.

Other measures are expanded

At the same time, the measures introduced last week, which would apply until October 4, are extended. The extension is 14 days and therefore lasts until October 18, when the Danish schools’ fall holidays begin.

Companies that make a living hosting parties, such as conference facilities and catering companies, should now be able to request additional support for their businesses.

Subcontractors for these companies must also be able to receive the support money.

At the press conference, the Chief of the National Police, Thorkild Fogde, also announced that the police are deploying 300 people to help health authorities with monitoring of infections.
