The administrative court grants the right to the insurance fund.
Anna Holmlund is denied financial compensation for a rehabilitation camp in Spain, which cost 150,000 SEK.
– We have not taken a position on how we should do it now, says Father Lars Holmlund
At the end of last year, Anna Holmlund went to a rehabilitation camp in Spain. After three weeks, she came home completely happy and said it was the best camp she had ever been to.
The family applied to the Swedish Social Security Agency for compensation after the camp. It would cover the costs of around SEK 150,000 for Anna and her brain-damaged assistants, but the Swedish Social Insurance Agency said no. This was justified by the fact that Holmlund’s home region, Västernorrland, would not have offered him the current care.
The family then decided to appeal the decision, as compensation is awarded in other regions.
“It’s sad how society works”
Now the administrative court has rejected Holmlund, Expressen claims.
– It was a very strange decision because it depends on where you live in Sweden. It is deplorable how society works, says Father Lars Holmlund.
Holmlund and his family naturally expected a different decision.
– Our hope with the verdict was that Anna would be granted these funds. We have not taken a position on what to do now, if we are to appeal against this decision, says Lars Holmlund.
