Naturumchefen on planned closure of Falsterbo Strandbad: “A shock”
Plans by the moderates to shut down operations at Falsterbo Strandbad have drawn strong reactions, both among employees who are now likely to be out of work, and the general public. Over the weekend, the protest lists gathered thousands of signatures.
– Many are horrified and concerned about this, says Camilla Wadlund, deputy nature director.
The Falsterbo Strandbad Cultural Center opened in 2016. The 1,200-square-meter facility currently houses a restaurant, nature center and art gallery.
Sydsvenskan recently reported that the Vellinge moderates want to shut down Falsterbo Strandbad until the turn of the year. The plan is to phase out nature and art galleries and instead use the conference and event facilities – a first step toward investing in a spa hotel that the party wants to see on-site. The proposal is included in the M budget for 2021, which will be considered in the fall.
