Stefan Löfven loses confidence: Sjöstedt on top

During the spring, support for the Social Democrats and confidence in Prime Minister Stefan Löfven increased. Since then, various measurements have shown that the pendulum swings.

Stefan Löfven (S) was pulled off the top of confidence for the first time since the start of the corona pandemic, the September Sifo / Expressen poll shows.

And now you can see the same trend in an SVT / Novus survey.

Confidence in the prime minister fell from 40 to 35 percent between June and September, and now V leader Jonas Sjöstedt is at the top. Their confidence has increased from 34 to 36 percent during the same period.

“The crisis is over”

– A high level of trust in the party leader does not automatically mean that you are a large party. That Sjöstedt is at the top has nothing to do with greater sympathy for his politics, but rather that voters feel they know where they have him, Torbjörn Sjöström, CEO of Novus tells SVT and continues:

– This confirms that people’s perception of the corona pandemic is that the crisis is over. This contributes to Löfven losing significant confidence, says Torbjörn Sjöström.

Ulf Kristersson (M) still finishes third with 32 percent, while Ebba Busch scores 29 percent.
