At the press conference, the Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen (S), declared a series of measures that will now be introduced to overcome the situation of the crown in the country.
The restrictions are very similar in the Swedish strategy: To work from home if possible, avoid using public transport if not necessary and the restrictions in public settings.
The opening hours of restaurants and cafes for the whole country will be introduced.
The prime minister is aware that the measures may be perceived as frustrating, but emphasizes that it is everyone’s responsibility to try to stop the spread of infection.
– We must all use our common sense. It’s about limiting social interaction with other people, says Mette Frederiksen, adding:
– We are in the middle of a global pandemic. Now is the time to reduce the infection.
Mette Frederiksen also mentioned that the corona pandemic is hitting the country’s economy hard and therefore they want to avoid a severe shutdown of the country as much as possible and continue to keep society going.
The new measures mainly apply until October 4.
