Swedish pole vaulter Armand Duplantis achieved 615 in Rome and thus broke the world outdoor record. Sergei Bubka’s previous record 614 from 1994 is thus history. Annimari Korte achieved nothing on her return in the 100-meter hurdles. Norwegian Karsten Warholm, on the other hand, had a successful career and was noted for his second fastest time in the 400m hurdles.

In the Diamond League competition in Rome, 20-year-old Swedish pole vaulter Armand Duplantis achieved what he has proven many times during the season: the 615 height.

Ukrainian Sergei Bubka’s world outdoor record, 614, thus became just over 26 years.

In the pole vault statistics, indoor vault equals outdoor vault. In February, Duplantis jumped 618 indoors in Glasgow and thus holds the world record.

Short out of shape

The fenceboard Annimari Korte returned after a long break. It was a gasp. Korte finished ninth in her modest time of 13.34.

Nadine Visser won at 12.72 and 12.89 was required for a podium spot.

– Terrible. I don’t run in a month and it shows, Korte said in the C More interview after the race.

She is still happy with the whole thing.

– The season has been incredible. Eight times below the Olympic limit. Smooth and good, but there is nothing else to end like this.

– Next year I want to improve my profit level by a couple of tenths, said Korte, who has run 12.76 this year.

Warholm impressed

In the 400m hurdles, it was, as expected, Norwegian dominance. Karsten Warholm won by a time difference of 47.07, which is his second-best record ever.

A month ago, Warholm was trading at 46.87 in Stockholm. Kevin Young’s 1992 world record is 46.78.
