At first, it was mainly the Elfsborg defender Johan Larsson.
The game had lasted no more than eight minutes when Larsson cleared the ball off Moses Ugbu. But instead of going out and out, he threw the ball into his own goal.
He took immediate revenge
It would not be more than three minutes before Larsson took revenge. He followed up with a quick attack from Elfsborg and pushed the tie to 1-1.
Then began the search for the home team for the three points. Elfsborg also managed to create some dangerous chances. Jesper Karlsson was in a good position after just under 20 minutes and Elfsborg’s players shot quite a bit, but misdirected, towards the goal.
Mjällby also created some occasions.
Moses Ogbu came close just after Elfsborg’s draw, but home goalkeeper Tim Rönning was able to defend himself. Even late in the first half, Ogbu worried Elfsborg’s defense.
Punishment and invitation
In the second half, the team struggled to create scoring chances in the future, and Elfsborg was the team that tried the best and succeeded. After 66 minutes, Boråslaget received a dividend. Jesper Karlsson got a penalty to 2-1.
After that, Elfsborg looked to play the match, but then came the cold shower.
Mjällby’s Besard Sabovic tried a long shot in the 79th minute. The ball shot past Tim Rönning who bounced wildly. The Elfsborg goalkeeper stepped back and should have taken the ball, but was careless.
Elfsborg is in third place in the Allsvenskan.
