29-year-old Sebastian Andersson impressed last season with twelve goals in 33 Bundesliga appearances for Union Berlin. Recently, it has been said that the Swedish national team is about to change clubs, and now it is clear too.

Andersson has signed for Cologne and the contract runs for three years.

– I’m happy to be here. The transition is a good opportunity for me, as I needed a new adventure and a new motivation. I think Cologne is a good move for me, says Andersson on Cologne’s Twitter account and continues:

– I’ve been through a lot with Berlin. We went up (to the Bundesliga) for the first time and we stayed in the league. Of course then you develop as a person and as a player, at the same time that it is a special club, but now I am happy to be in Cologne.

According to the Cologne Stadt-Anzeiger, Cologne will have to pay around five million euros, around 50 million SEK, for Andersson’s signing.

Cologne finished 14th in the Bundesliga last year, five points behind Union Berlin.
