It was on Friday that the Halland County Administrative Board decided that a protective hunt would take place against the wolf that had stayed in the county for the summer, after a fourth attack occurred on Friday morning.
The hunt was to take place in parts of the Varberg and Kungsbacka municipalities, but now the Administrative Court announces the so-called inhibition, that the protection hunt will be stopped pending a final court decision.
– It is an appeal against our decision that has been received by the administrative court. They have found the appeal is well founded and have therefore decided to temporarily halt the search for protection, says Martin Broberg, a nature conservation officer at the County Administrative Board in Halland.
Additional information is required
Behind an appeal is the Jaktkritikerna association, which believes that the owner of the affected sheep after the first attack had the opportunity to take measures such as the installation of fences for predators.
The county administrative board now has until September 18 to provide additional information before the court makes a final decision on whether the search for protection can begin or stop altogether.
