Färjestad, the best player, begins the SHL season at home against Luleå on Saturday. But on Tuesday, a gender rehearsal awaited at home against AIK, where it was the allsvenskan hockey team that started the strongest.
AIK led 0-2 after the first period, following goals from Nicklas Heinerö and Jacob Svensson.
Heinerö also became a direct scorer in the second period, where Albert Johansson also cut for FBK.
Anton Holm smashed AIK 4-1 at the start of the third, and after two more goals, which came in 48 seconds, the score was 2-5.
Jacob Svensson received a match penalty against Färjestad
Then AIK’s Jacob Svensson attacked Färjestad’s Jacob Peterson from behind, who collapsed at the rim. Svensson went to the sending-off booth, but soon had to turn around and head to the dressing room, when the referee awarded a penalty.
When Fredric Weigel was sent off, Färjestad had a chance to play five on three, and then Victor Ejdsell managed a reduction to 3-5.
But Färjestad never got any closer than that, and AIK won the match.
