The owner of the NHL Montreal Canadiens club, Geoff Molson, was on the lake.

Then a seaplane landed in the water and sank.

The incident occurred Sunday morning on Lake Massawippi, east of Montreal. Molson was in his boat on the lake when a small seaplane landed in the water and suddenly began to sink.

Then Molson had to park.

When the plane sank, its only passenger, pilot Gabriel Chartier, managed to get off the plane. With scratches on his body and an injured hand, he surfaced, after which Molson steered his boat there.

“Like hitting something”

– It was a normal water landing. I went down to 85 mph (just over 140 kilometers per hour) and started hitting the water. I went against the wind and it was like I hit something, Chartier told Le Journal de Montréal.

Chartier was aided on the ship by Molson and brought in by paramedics who had been called to the scene. According to the newspaper, he was not seriously injured.

Geoff Molson, owner of the Montreal Canadiens since 2009, had an estimated fortune of $ 1.75 billion in 2018, roughly SEK 15 billion, according to Business Insider.
