Polarbröd goes back to the cause of the violent fire that completely destroyed the bakery in Älvsbyn.

It was probably you who caught fire behind the blaze, the company’s internal investigation shows.

The fire broke out late at night on August 23. The course of the fire became very strong and the facility was completely destroyed.

At first, there was information that it was a piece of dough that had started to burn on a conveyor belt that was the cause of the fire. But then the company backed down on the cause of the fire.

– Right now there is no evidence of what in the media has now become a truth, that it was a piece of dough that caught fire and caused the fire. I think everyone can understand that it was an incredibly pressured situation right after the fire. Then there was such an assumption, Anders E Johansson, CEO of Polarbröd, told NSD in early September.

Now Polarbröd’s internal investigation shows that the lump of dough still appears to have been the cause of the fire.

The dough has probably started to burn in the oven and then has been transported to the so-called cooling track, Polarbröd writes in a press release.

According to the investigation, the fire broke out in the track of the swallows, a 50-meter-long tunnel where bread is cooled. Ventilation made the fire pick up speed and advance rapidly. The construction of the road made its extinction impossible, the company continues.

Various investigations into the fire are underway. Among other things, he is being investigated by the police, the Polarbröd insurance company and the Swedish Civil Contingency Agency.
