The first artist of the Melodifestivalen 2021 is ready.
Artist Julia Alfrida won her spot on the starting grid through the “P4 Next” talent hunting contest.
“It feels really fun to give it the opportunity to reach a large audience,” says Karin Gunnarsson, competition producer for Melodifestivalen.
It was on Saturday night that the final of “P4 Next” was held, a nationwide music competition where both established and unknown artists compete against each other.
“Exciting artist”
Each year, one of the finalists receives an offer to participate in the Melodifestivalen the following year, and this year the choice fell on Julia Alfrida, 25, voted by P4 Stockholm listeners.
Julia Alfrida feels like a young and exciting artist who pushes limits and norms both musically and with her personality. It feels really fun to give her the opportunity to reach a large audience. Hilde & Erik were the final winners on “P4 Next”.
The other 27 acts that will compete at the Melodifestivalen in addition to Julia Alfrida will be announced in late fall.
