The hairdresser who was treated at the Borås salon has had surgery for his injuries.
A relative of the man received the shocking message by phone shortly after the event.
– When I entered, he was lying on the ground in a pool of blood. It was a nightmare. He’s completely innocent, he says.
Four men have now been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
At 4 pm on Friday, a masked gunman entered a hairdresser in central Borås. He fired five shots at a client who, according to the information, has connections to criminal gangs.
Behind the chair was the hairdresser, a man in his 25s, who threw himself to the side and received a blow to the leg.
A short time later, a relative of the man received the message by phone.
– I saw that it was he who was calling, but when I answered it was one of his colleagues on the other end of the phone who was yelling that he had been shot in the leg. It was lucky they told me it was on my leg, otherwise I probably wouldn’t have even been able to get there, he tells Aftonbladet.
The relative was nearby and ran into the living room.
– I ran straight through the intersection and crossed the street. I didn’t care if it was green, yellow, or red, I just ran. The cars honked their horns and I ran for the king and the country. She was afraid she would bleed before she could get there.

“It was surreal”
When the relative arrived, the place was cordoned off and several police cars were parked outside the room.
– When I entered the room, he was lying on the floor in a pool of blood and writhing in pain. Several policemen crouched over him and tried to stop the bleeding. It was surreal. Somehow I managed to stay calm for his sake. I sat down on my knees and took his hand, says the relative.
The man was taken by ambulance to seven houses. He has undergone surgery and is still being treated in hospital for his injuries. According to the relative, it was the last bullet to hit the man’s narrow leg when he threw himself to the side to protect himself.
– I met him and he is sore and cut, but will be physically restored. The bullet penetrated his tibia and caused a fracture. But that is the smallest problem. The biggest problem is probably the psychological one. It was traumatic for me to get there shortly after and I can only imagine what it was like to be there when the shots were fired, says the relative.
According to the information, the client must have links to gang crimes and have been the intended target.
– My relative is a completely innocent person who has been a victim of this and it will probably change his life. It is unacceptable that a shooting could take place like this, in the middle of a bright day on an open street in the very center and affect innocent people. I think the police and politicians should stop this, says the relative.
Four men arrested for attempted murder
Just over an hour after the event, four men in their 20s and 30s were arrested in a car in a parking lot in Borås. During Saturday night, all the suspects were arrested for attempted murder.
Currently, the police do not want to comment on the motive or if there is any connection to the gang crime.
– It may be so, but there is nothing we can confirm yet. But this is something we are investigating and looking at more closely, says Peter Adlersson, a spokesman for the West Police Region.
