After the shooting, the suspect ran from the scene and was searched by several police units. The wounded man was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
– We received information about shootings in the center of Borås and witnesses have seen a masked man run from there. We currently have a big effort in Borås, where several units are running in full, says Peter Adlersson, press spokesman for the police in the West.
Unclear damage situation
According to Adlersson, it was possible to speak briefly with the man who shot before he was taken to hospital. But it is not yet clear how seriously he is injured. The police will listen to the injured person again as soon as their condition allows.
The alarm about the shooting reached police shortly before 4:30 on Friday. The place was cordoned off for a technical investigation and a preliminary investigation for attempted murder was launched.
Four men arrested
Just before 6 p.m., four men suspected of being involved in the shooting of a car were arrested in a parking lot in central Borås, near the crime scene. The men are between 20 and 30 years old. The car has been impounded for technical inspection.
– We suspect that one of them fired. We’ll investigate further who did what, but everyone is suspected of being involved, says Peter Adlersson.
At 8:35 p.m., the police announced that the roadblocks had been lifted and the interrogations of the detainees had begun.
