Author and playwright Jonas Gardell has demanded the resignation of Amanda Lind and demanded “a true Minister of Culture” in the crisis of the crown.
In a popular cultural article in Expressen, Gardell writes:
“Amanda Lind, you probably mean well, but honestly, I don’t think you know enough about culture to lead this work, and you obviously haven’t been able to assert yourself in government. We can’t have such a weak senior representative for us.“
He demands “A Minister of Culture who knows something, at least, of the industry”.
Lind: “Annoyed and angry”
On the Assefa Schlingmann podcast, run by public relations consultancy Lili Assefa and author and former politician Per Schlingmann, Amanda Lind is asked if the criticism has saddened her.
– What Jonas Gardell said and wrote, and that did not make me sad but more irritated and perhaps angry and feel that “it is not true” is that he would not have knowledge, he says and continues:
– This is something that I also heard when I assumed the position of Minister of Culture: “who is she, what does she know about cultural policy” and I felt that “but my God, I have worked for ten years with cultural policy”. local and regional level but also as party secretary and we sculpt our cultural policy programs and the like.
Jonas Gardell has declined to comment on Amanda Lind’s statements on the podcast.
