The Braås school in Växjö municipality received a bomb threat on Thursday morning. All 500 students were evacuated from the school grounds.
– We have the alarm at 8:29. It is a threat directed at the school. We are there to collect information. Right now I cannot provide more information, says Sara Andersson, press spokeswoman for the South Police Region.
At school, students range from preschool to ninth grade. The municipality activated its crisis management staff after receiving the threat.
– We received a bomb threat directed at the school and that is why we have made the decision that all students should leave the area. We are now informing all parents what the next step is. Now we are awaiting the evaluation of the police, says Anders Elingfors, school director in Växjö municipality.
“There is no substance in the threat”
At ten thirty, the police announced that the operation had ended.

“Very worrying”
Students were allowed to return to school and the municipality has invested additional resources to support students and staff. Some parents have chosen to pick up their children.
– We will not have regular lessons, but we will now process this today and probably tomorrow as well. It is very revolutionary for everyone involved, although now it was a false alarm.
