Former ambassador to China Anna Lindstedt will soon return to the service of the Foreign Ministry, reports SVT.
In July, Lindstedt was cleared of suspicions of arbitrariness in negotiations with a foreign power after the Stockholm District Court dismissed the accusation. The case concerned a meeting organized by Lindstedt, in which Angela Gui and two businessmen with connections to China participated. The purpose was to free Angela Gui’s father, Gui Minhai, who is imprisoned in China.
The internal investigation of the Foreign Ministry is now complete, which has concluded that no disciplinary measure is relevant. The Foreign Ministry confirms to SVT that Anna Lindstedt will soon return to office, but does not want to comment on what tasks the former ambassador will receive.
