Half a million infected with corona in Spain

Spain was one of the countries most affected by the spread of the infection during the crown spring in Europe. Now that the country of 47 million has received something like a second wave, the figures show that they are twice the spread of France and Italy.

The spread gained momentum again after the country lifted some of the severe restrictions previously issued.

“Many people will be infected if any of these people, if they do not die, they will suffer and their health will be affected for a long time,” said Rafael Bengoa, a professor at the Spanish Institute of Health, according to Reuters.

In total, just over 29,500 people in Spain have now died, fewer than France and Italy.

Requires safe schooling

When the country began mass testing in June, health authorities saw a large increase in the number of cases. Since then, the increase has continued and now voices have been raised in Spain to once again tighten the restrictions of the country’s crown.

Coral Latorre, president of a student union in Madrid, has lawsuits after the opening of schools in the Basque Country, among other places.

– We demand that it be safe to return to education in schools and greater resources to ensure that education exists and that our schools are safe.

Critical Greek medical profession

In Greece, the infection has increased in several places in recent weeks. Between August 22 and 28, 1,597 new cases were registered. The number of confirmed cases has doubled in the last four weeks.

Michalis Giannakos, president of the Greek Medical Association, tells SR that the cases detected on the islands are most frequently recorded on the mainland.

– It is done to help tourism, so that the islands that receive many tourists do not have a bad reputation, he says.
