On Thursday, Atlantic reported that President Trump had said during a visit to Paris that it was not important to honor fallen American soldiers.
He is also said to have called the military “losers” and “fools.”
The disclosure was based on several anonymous sources, the information of which was later confirmed by sources to several other American newsrooms.
Fox reporter received confirmed information
One of the journalists who tried to find out if the surprising information was correct was Fox News security policy reporter Jennifer Griffin.
“Two high-ranking former Trump administration officials confirm reports that President Trump spoke disparagingly of war veterans and did not want to go to honor fallen Americans at the Aisne-Marne cemetery outside Paris.”Griffin wrote on Twitter.

At the same time, he clarified that he had received no confirmation that the president called fallen Americans “losers” and “fools.” However, a former senior official in the Griffin administration explained that the president had called the military who served during the Vietnam War “fools.”
Griffin’s reports drew attention because Fox News is seen as a Trump-loyal news channel where multiple anchors often defend the president’s actions.
Trump wanted Griffin to be fired
President Trump asked the television station to fire Griffin.
Jennifer Griffin should be fired for these kinds of reports. She didn’t even call us to comment “the president wrote on Twitter.

Griffin said after the president’s proposal that she was sure of the information she had reported and explained that the sources were not anonymous to her and probably not to the president either.
“I am a reporter and it was my job to report what I heard,” she told Fox News.
Several of Griffin’s colleagues at Fox News have subsequently come out to defend her.
“Jennifer @JenGriffinFNC is a good reporter and first class”wrote the political anchor of the channel Bret Baier on Twitter.

The television station has not made an official statement, states the Washington Post.
President Trump has denied that the information is correct, saying on Friday:
– There is no one who feels stronger for our soldiers, our wounded warriors, our soldiers who died in the war.
“Who does he think he is?” – hear Joe Biden’s response to Trump’s military scorn.
