It was at 07:00 am on Friday that the man was found dead in an apartment in the center of Trollhättan.
– This morning we met a dead man in the center of Trollhättan and the circumstances at the scene mean that we cannot rule out that the man has been the subject of a crime, said Thomas Fuxborg, a police spokesman in the western region.
There was also a 55-year-old man in the apartment, who was brought in for questioning by the police patrol at the scene. During questioning, he was notified of the suspicion of murder and later arrested.
Found dead by his colleague
Katarina Lyxell is a Crime Inspector in the Fyrbodal Felony Unit. She says the deceased man, who worked as a personal assistant, was found at his home in his patient’s apartment by a colleague.
– It was found by another caregiver, a colleague, who would fix it, says Lyxell.
The man who has now been arrested is reasonably suspected of murder, which is the least degree of suspicion, according to the police he is not the user who lived in the apartment.
If there is any connection between the user and the suspect, or what he did in the apartment, the police do not want to enter.
May have been stabbed to death
According to information from Aftonbladet, the man who was found in the apartment must have been stabbed to death.
– I may or may not want to say anything about it, in reference to the confidentiality of the preliminary investigation, Lyxell tells GT.
On Friday, a technical investigation was carried out at the site and areas outside the department were also cordoned off.
Police also moved into the area during the day to knock on doors and question people. In all, there are about a hundred, according to Lyxell.
– We continue today with the interrogations that must be done and right now we are compiling the information on the door knocks that were made yesterday. A lot was done, so there is a long way to go. When we’ve done that, we can see if there are more people who need to be heard who haven’t been heard yet, he says.
