A very sick Trelleborgs FF suffered another blow. Defeat against bottom Gais by 1-2 (0-0).
– Of course, it was a very strong loss, thought midfielder Anton Tideman.

Trelleborgs FF’s preparation for the away game against Gais was optimal.
This week it became known that illnesses and colds ravaged the squad so much that they chose to cancel the last training session before Friday’s game.
– It has been a time that has been difficult to handle. But that kind of thing happens in football. Sometimes unpredictable things happen, said TFF veteran Anton Tideman.
Seven players, who were or had been ill, were able to stay home on Friday. Everyone had done the Coronatest, but the club had only had time to receive responses from one player before match day. It was negative and in that sense the only positive in the whole thing.
In addition to illness, TFF coach Kristian Haynes also had to deal with two injuries. This meant that three new players entered the starting eleven compared to the most recent against Jönköping, a couple of players in new positions and a bench where only one player was in his 20s.
– When so many retire, coaches have to find other solutions, but it is also part of the game, said Anton Tideman, who had to form a midfielder pair with midfielder Mouhammed-Ali Dhaini.
With Hampus Nilsson at home, Andreas Larsen had to take his place in goal for the first time this season. He was responsible for a brilliant stoppage of reflexes in the first half without goals, but had to let a ball in early in the second after the Trelleborg defense acted passively.
– The first goal was decisive. It forced us to move forward and then we also opened and let in 2-0. Then the receipt came too late, Anton Tideman said.
When TFF went on offense in the middle of the second half, they had no more than half the chances. Instead, it was Gais who was able to punch through the match in the final minutes after rolling up Trelleborg’s defense properly and making it 2-0.
A small wound patch came in the 92nd minute. Trelleborg received a penalty from Herman Hallberg.
– We should not blame the loss on what happened this week. Those who had a chance to play were there to do a good job. The competition at TFF is so great that it will not lead to major changes, said Anton Tideman.
