The last known observation of Sofie Hauge Kyneb was made when she left her home in Viby, Denmark, around 10:30 on Wednesday to be at work in Aarhus at 11 o’clock.
But the 21-year-old never made it to work, prompting his colleagues to sound the alarm. Just a day later, the search operation entered an intensive phase with the help of, among other things, a helicopter in the air over Aarhus and hundreds of volunteers from the Missing People search organization.
However, there were still no traces of Sofie, who has left no traces via mobile phone or bank card.
The police do not suspect a crime.
– There is no indication that there is a criminal act behind it. Of course, we can’t rule it out, but nothing points in that direction, Flemming Lau, an East Jutland Police duty officer, tells Danish TV2.
The army is helping
During Friday, the search operation continues and, among other things, the National Guard assists knocking on doors in the area and searching nearby gardens and green areas.
In addition, residents of Kongsvang and its surroundings are encouraged to look through their own surveillance cameras at homes.
“It could be that Sofie has passed your villa or was in your garden,” the Danish police write on their website.
Sofie’s mother, Majbritt Hauge Kyneb, has been searching all night and says that the daughter who still lives at home is usually “happy and functioning well.”
– I’m horrible. It’s a nightmare. We hope you come home soon and are well, says the mother to TV 2 Östjylland.
