IFK Kristianstad loses national team star and crowd favorite Valter Chrintz.
On Wednesday, he was presented by the great German club Füchse Berlin and posed alongside sports director and former world star Stefan Kretzschmar.
According to Kretzschmar, Chrintz will fill the gap left by another Swede, Mattias Zachrisson, who has a shoulder injury and will be out for a long time.
“Finding someone like Valter in this context, who for me is one of the most promising talents in Europe in this position, is of course unlucky for us,” he said in a press release.
“Extremely difficult decision”
Chrintz tells the IFK Kristianstad website that it was an “extremely difficult decision.”
– Everyone who knows me knows that this has been a dream for me, to move to Germany, play in the best handball league in the world and do what I love, he says.
Valter Chrintz leaves Sweden with immediate effect.
His international breakthrough came in 2018 when, at 18, he was selected as a “round player” in the Champions League two rounds in a row. In January, he played the European Championship at home and made a memorable debut with an art goal behind him.
