During the summer, they have warned about congestion and little compliance with the recommendations on covid-19. But now the county administrative board reports that “Västra Götaland breathes hope again.”
– If we look at the trend that we reported in recent weeks, we can see that there is a higher degree of compliance, says Magnus Petersson, crisis management manager at the county administrative board.
One explanation may be that vacation periods and the hottest days of summer are over.
– Summer activities have slowed down, and we have previously reported congestion on beaches mainly linked to tourism.

Increased congestion at night.
However, one municipality stands out negatively: Gothenburg.
– The situation there has changed less. As we noted in this week’s report, the problem of congestion in public transport and in nightlife persists.
The city of Gothenburg has singled out 1 a.m. to the county administrative board as a time when congestion becomes a particularly serious problem in pub life.
– You can probably speculate on what it depends on. But if there are a lot of people out and about and alcohol is involved, of course it can be a bit more difficult to handle.

In addition to Gothenburg, which reported serious deficiencies to the county administrative board, eight municipalities have reported certain deficiencies.
– Compliance is increasing, but the problem persists in Gothenburg.
