The test answer has arrived.

Petter Northug’s blood test was negative.

Petter Northug was charged with being under the influence of drugs while driving 168 kilometers per hour. The Norwegian’s blood tests show that no alcohol or drugs were detected.

– Therefore, the police dismiss the accusations of driving under the influence of drugs. But the preliminary drug possession and speeding charge stands, says chamber prosecutor Karoline Ekeberg.

– Petter is relieved by the clarification. Although it is the same thing that he told the media at the press conference in Trondheim. This is obviously important to the continuing approach to criminal law, Northug attorney Halvard Helle tells VG.

Swedish support

The former long-distance star was arrested on suspicion of speeding and possession of drugs at her home on August 13, driving 168 kilometers per hour on Highway 110 in Ullensaker Township. The next day, the 34-year-old admitted.

Following suspicions, the Uno-X cycling team opted to break the agreement with Petter Northug’s sports eyewear brand. While Swedish long-distance stars Calle Halfvarsson and Frida Karlsson have kept theirs.

“I’d rather help than a friend than turn my back on him,” Halfvarsson said.

– First of all, I think of Petter. It’s a tough time for him and I really choose to support him through the tough time he’s going through, Karlsson said.
