The fire broke out at 11:30 p.m. Sunday night. An employee said overnight that the fire had started after a piece of bread caught fire in the oven.
– It followed on the cooling tracks (a conveyor belt) and they are made of plastic, so it caught fire right away. We tried to turn it off by hand but it didn’t work, an employee told NSD.

But CEO Karin Bodin says no cause for the total fire in Polarbröd can be determined at present.
