Emporia’s new food court failed congestion control

Last week’s congestion inspections at Malmö restaurants focused on the city’s commercial center. Four businesses failed inspection, including the new Emporia food court.

Since the Malmö Environmental Administration congestion inspections began in mid-April, 650 inspections have been carried out. 65 companies have received comments on deficiencies. They have all solved their problems.

Last week, environmental inspectors focused on the city’s commercial center and its restaurants. 26 operations were inspected and this resulted in four new diversion reports, two of which were from Emporia.

An individual restaurant in Emporia they were reported to have deficiencies, but mostly the inspectors focused on the newly opened large food court.

– There were a lot of people out this weekend and in Emporia that meant problems. They have tried to delimit and close individual tables, but it doesn’t help when the tables remain. If there are a lot of people on the move, people sit there anyway, says David Lindsjö of the Environmental Administration.

The environmental administration will now carry out a follow-up visit to the four activities.
