NEW YORK. The Vancouver Canucks are also bad in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Despite a good effort, and despite a new penalty from Elias Pettersson, they lost again to Las Vegas last night, and they may be forced to leave the bubble in a few days.

– It’s just to learn from this and come back in the next game, says Elias after the 5-3 loss.

He leaves in the second round of the Stanley Cup. Even before tonight’s late game in Edmonton, the Tampa, Dallas and New York Islanders had gained a 3-1 lead in their respective series, and now Vegas also has two game balls in their game against Vancouver.

Unlike the other losing games, like last night, the Canucks were good this time. In a power play in the middle of the first period, Elias Pettersson made sure to equal Las Vegas’s opening 1-0 lead with a fantastic direct shot, and in the second period they turned a 1-2 deficit into a lead of 3-2.

– Then we had more power play and it would have been nice if we could get a two-goal lead before the third, but maybe we were too unfocused, says Elias Pettersson in the press conference afterwards.

Lehner rested after success

Regardless, Vegas was able to turn around again with three unanswered goals in the third, including a signed William Karlsson, and they ultimately won 5-3.

– It’s how it is now. We must try to learn from this and come back in the next game.

As usual, Jacob Markström had a lot to do and stopped 28 shots, but also let five in.

– How many would I like to have back? All five, she says.

Robin Lehner rested, as it was the second game in one day.
