During the violent mutiny in Malmö on Friday, anti-Semitic slogans were shouted. Now the police will investigate the events that can be described as “incitement to ethnic groups”.
– If there is no police report, we do it on our own initiative, police spokesman Ewa-Gun Westford tells Kvällsposten.
Parts of the crowd were forced to clench their fists and shout “Jews remember Khaybar, Mohammad’s army returns.” According to the Central Jewish Council, Khaybar was a place where Jews were murdered by Muhammad and his followers in 628, and the slogans are interpreted as a call “for the murder and purge of Jews,” the council writes on its website.
Multiple videos of the incident have been posted on social media and the police intelligence unit is investigating the matter, according to Westford.
