The city of Malmö wants to find a place for an anti-racist monument to remember the victims of Mang

The idea that Malmö should have an anti-racist monument can take a big step forward this fall. At the end of September, Malmö’s cultural politicians will speak out on the question of researching the issue.
– If we want to do this, we must do work that not only makes the people of Malmö proud, but is also at a level that generates greater attention, says Jennie Järvå from the cultural administration.

On May 1, 2019, five strong Malmö forces came out in a joint appeal at Sydsvenskan. Filmmaker Manal Masri, activist Showan Shattak, historian Robert Nilsson Mohammadi, Malmö operations manager Nicolas Lunabba, and Save the Children operations developer Daniel Diaz wrote that Malmö did not process the “collective trauma caused by the racist act of Peter Mang “between 2003 and 2010. The five suggested that Malmö erect an anti-racist memorial or monument.
