After a turbulent night in Malmö, where hundreds of people burned rubble and threw objects at the police, a long day of investigations awaits the police. About fifteen people were detained overnight. 13 people are suspected of violent disturbances, of which five were detained overnight. In addition, some ten people were arrested for disturbing public order, but at lunchtime on Saturday, all were released.

The protests and riots took place in the wake of the burning of the Koran and actions critical to Islam planned in Malmö by a Danish right-wing extremist.

The riots lasted from 7 in the afternoon until the wee hours of the morning. By 03, most had dispersed from Amiralsgatan, where an estimated 300 people gathered during the afternoon and evening. It all started in the Rosengård district in Malmö and moved west towards Annelund. Most were waiting, but several threw stones at the police and rescue services in the area. Fireworks were also fired at the police. (TT)
