On Saturday afternoon, large numbers of people gathered in front of the Norwegian parliament, the Storting, to demonstrate against the organization Sian (Stop the Islamization of Norway).
The demonstrations began calmly, but then turned violent. Among other things, after representatives of Sian raised a Quran to spit it out and tear off pages. The protesters are said to have thrown eggs at Sian, all according to NRK.

Police in riot gear stormed a rally on Friday, taking hundreds of protesters away by truck.
– Some young people have lost control and are destroying everything we try to defend here today, says a protester with whom NRK spoke.
Another protester, Kalifa, says Sian’s provocations are clearly crossing the border.
– This is not freedom of expression, they cross a border and say nasty things about my faith in Islam. I also wouldn’t have liked for someone to say nasty things about Christianity, for someone to go out and burn a Bible, he tells NRK.
Sian’s stated goal is “to oppose, stop and reverse the Islamization of Norway.” Already during their demonstration in Bergen last weekend, there were riots between them and the counter-protesters.
