Even in the first half he was against Varberg.

Then strong Sirius collapsed and lost 0-2.

– It was a terribly bad defensive game in many situations, says Sirius coach Henrik Rydström on Dplay.

Sirius came to Varberg in the hope of achieving the fourth consecutive victory and holding on to the main battle.

And after 45 minutes, Sirius’ victory was still within reach.

So Varberg took over.

Changed

The home team really changed in the second half and had offers for several goals, and in the end it came after a solid invitation from Tim Björkström.

Sirius’ team captain fouled that resulted in a change for Varberg. Astrit Selmani finally got the ball and was able to serve Gustaf Norlin who shot 1-0 in the 67th minute.

Four minutes later, Selmani found himself fine when he nodded at the 2-0 final score. His eighth goal of the season.

“Become a gang of thieves”

After the match, Sirius’ coach Henrik Rydström was expected to be less satisfied with his team’s effort.

– If you go out and play the type of individual defensive game that we do … a lot of my players have been praised lately, but obviously we’re not there for you to take it and do what you’re supposed to do. It was a terribly bad defensive game in many situations individually, says Rydström on Dplay and continues:

– We are lucky that before there will be no goals and when they score later they will be gangs of robbers. It gets meaty and then we fold down and not get up in the next step. We will be a good team and today we show that we are not, so we have to keep working, he says.

Selmani’s promise

The victory was Varberg’s second in a row after defeating Örebro 2-1 in the last.

– It’s a good team we know. But in the second half, I don’t think they can run like us. We just gasp and get frustrated. And if I can keep screaming and make them more cursed, it’s just joy for me, says Astrit Selmani.

The captain of Varberg’s team also came up with a little promise:

– There will be teams, we will not do that, I guarantee it. We do matches like this, especially this fall. Teams hate coming here and will continue to hate it, he says.

Varberg is now in ninth place with 23 points, eight points behind runner-up Elfsborg. Sirius is sixth with 28 points.
