Those waiting for the EU Commission’s proposal for a recovery fund and a new long-term budget seem to be waiting for more.

The promise of a presentation in early May has already been transformed by the middle of the month. And according to information from the AFP news agency, now it is rather the end of the month that applies.

By May 27 or May 28, proposals are now expected to be submitted, EU sources told AFP on Thursday.

The message comes just a day after Commission President Ursula von der Leyen presented a draft of her plans to the European Parliament in Brussels.

“We need to support those who need it most, we need to call for investment and reform, and we must strengthen our economies by focusing on our common priorities, such as the EU’s green donor, digitization and our resilience” von der Leyen said.
