Kim Ekdahl Du Rietz bet against the Olympics.
Now he goes to handball, again.
The national team star will study at the University of Hong Kong for four years, he tells French L’Equipe.
Before the Swedish European Championship in January, Kim Ekdahl Du Rietz was clear that he was betting against the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
But he couldn’t promise that he would continue handball after the Olympics.
After the failed European Championship in Sweden, the 30-year-old was clear that the campaign against the Olympics continued.
It ended in 2017
But now that the Olympics have advanced a year and the season ended prematurely due to the crown, it is clear that Ekdahl Du Rietz played his last game and quit handball again.

It ended after the 2016-17 season, but made an amazing comeback less than a year later and has continued ever since. He also returned to the national team for the 2019 World Cup after not wearing the blue-yellow jersey in five years.
Go study in Hong Kong
For L’Equipe, Ekdahl Du Rietz tells him that he has been studying “Global Studies” for four years at a Hong Kong university and that he has been studying Chinese since joining January.
He admits that the decision to quit smoking was more difficult this time than last time.
– The end did not go as planned. But somewhere I had the opportunity to experience this end of my career three years ago. Everything that has happened since then has been an advantage for me. Even without an end point, it’s a fantastic story, he tells L’Equipe.
