Tomorrow, Friday, the Defense Committee, which includes all parliamentary parties, reportedly presented its report ahead of Parliament’s defense decision this fall. Determine the future of total defense in 2021-2025.
A final committee meeting was launched today at 1pm, but unanimous information from both sides on the border of the political bloc indicates that there will be no agreement.
“We are very far apart and I see no precondition for us to find a consensus on what has been presented so far in the next 24 hours,” says Pål Johnson, a member of the Moderate committee.

On the bourgeois side, Center Party negotiator Daniel Bäckström, in an interview with DN, has demanded an increase in defense funds until 2030 and that the moderates join a broad agreement.
DN has repeatedly sought out Defense Minister Peter Hultqvist, who declined to comment during the ongoing negotiations.
