Earlier this year, prosecutor Krister Petersson revealed on SVT Break of the Weekt that before the summer he will press charges or close the preliminary investigation into the Palm murder. It could mean a solution to the question that has been investigated for 34 years: who assassinated Prime Minister Olof Palme.
Krister Petersson has not disclosed who is being investigated. But various measures have been directed at the so-called Skandia man, who was released as a possible assassin by journalist Thomas Petersson in a report in Filter magazine summer 2018.
Not crucial
Thomas Petersson points out that the investigation of the villa in Täby is late and he does not believe that it is crucial for the investigation.
– You have a to-do list before completing the preliminary investigation. So this visit to the villa is probably something to do, even if you don’t have much hope of finding something new. I think the crucial tasks have been around for a long time, he says.
What could it be?
– Of course you would like to see a murder weapon found. But it can also be a combination of various types of data, technical evidence, or testimony from the site that we don’t know about until now.
The answer comes in June.
Thomas Petersson, in his review of the Palm murder, claimed that the Scandinavian was fired on suspicion of wrong motives, and highlighted a link to an arms collector with access to the type of weapon used in the murder.
So far, he has had no reason to reevaluate some of his findings, but he is very curious about what will be revealed in Prosecutor Krister Petersson’s documentation when the preliminary investigation is presented in June.
– Then there may be new information that I have not had, and none. Then perhaps you can reevaluate one and the other, he says.
