Already this winter, GT could say that Jakob Johansson would move to IFK Gothenburg and now the worst-preserved transition of the year is officially unveiled.
An acquisition that can hardly be overestimated and shows that Blavvitt is serious. Before the crossband injury, Jakob Johansson was leading the national team and it would not be surprising if he returns in Janne Andersson’s group this fall.
But wait a while before you are in good shape again.
More surprising then, that in practice Alexander Farnerud is ready for IFK Gothenburg. And this is not the first time that the club has sought his signature. Before 2016, Mats Gren and company made an attempt and the player was very interested, but the correct amount of money was missing and the midfielder wrote for BK Häcken.
Last year, the 36-year-old was in Helsingborg and came second in the domestic points league (2 + 4 in 19 games), but coach Olof Mellberg wanted to bet on other players and threw him out.
Since then Alexander Farnerud, who over the years has struggled with injuries, has continued on his own and there are definitely no plans to quit smoking. For Football Direct, he recently told me that “the body feels perfect” and “I have all the Swedish class in me.”
If there’s one thing IFK Gothenburg has a lot of, it’s the offensive player. So why bring in a 36-year-old man who previously had injury problems?
Well, there is no talk that he is a top player in this series at his best and he seems to be highly motivated himself, Blåvit’s team is relatively young and thin and he is likely to get a performance based contract at base salary low.
A perfect backup that increases the quality of workouts and does not require game time requirements. IFK Gothenburg will continue to invest primarily in their own talents, but will now receive a match winner type that can be thrown if needed.
Also, both Alhassan Yusuf and August Erlingmark could be sold this summer and Giorgi Kharaishvili and Hosam Aiesh are also interested in foreign clubs. So it’s not stupid to have Alexander Farnerud on the team, but I still hope that a promising guy like Noah Alexandersson will be ahead if he stands up and weighs.
Of course Pontus Farnerud has a big part in this. He has according to the information from GT pushed hard for his little brother and it’s perfectly natural, but he never would have if he hadn’t thought it would be a very good solution for IFK Gothenburg.
Pontus Farnerud does not risk his good reputation just by fixing jobs for the little brother.
Marcus Berg, 33, will probably not be hungry when big names come, especially if the club also chooses to hire polo 34-year-old Mattias Bjärsmyr.
Mittbacken is a water divider between blue and white fans, but his merits, quality, hunger, club feeling, and leadership qualities speak for themselves.
It doesn’t demand a high salary and it had been a sensible solution, waiting for Rasmus Wikström, 19, and Jesper Tolinsson, 17, to grow up.
And yes, he had obviously taken a starting point.
Now that the puzzle pieces are starting to fall into place, IFK Gothenburg suddenly has a hyperactive team.
We don’t have all the Swedish football yet, but we have a lot to look forward to.
