Prime Minister Stefan Löfven, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ann Linde, the Minister for Social Affairs, Lena Hallengren and Johan Carlson, Director General of the Public Health Agency, will participate in the press conference.

Stefan Löfven then announced that the Foreign Ministry will extend its recommendation for unnecessary travel to all countries until July 15.

– The Ministry of Foreign Affairs decided today to extend the recommendation to all countries until July 15, 2020. Due to the ongoing uncertainty that prevails, says Foreign Minister Ann Linde.

Ann Linde adds that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is continually reviewing the reasons for the decision and that the advice may be expanded or modified before July 15.

Stefan Löfven says:

– I wish I could say that this is over, that we have the crisis behind us, but we have not yet arrived. The summer ahead will be different.

– We haven’t closed everything, but we still can’t go back to normal mode.

So you can travel this summer, this is true

Löfven announces that the journey that takes between 1 and 2 hours by car from the place of residence can be made under certain conditions.

– But even during these trips, common sense and own responsibility apply.

Social Affairs Minister Lena Hallengren says the Public Health Authority has assessed that travel can be done in the country without overburdening medical care.

– If you travel, it must be with family or close acquaintances with whom you are already spending time. It is not a sign on our side that the danger has passed, says Lena Hallengren.

Ann Linde says the work to help Swedes stranded abroad continues.

– Swedes abroad are invited to follow the advice of local governments and are invited to participate in the embassy travel information in Swedenabroad or in the UD travel app, she says.

The ban on public meetings with more than 50 people remains valid.

The director general of the Public Health Authority, Johan Carlson, says that the authority is seeking to adapt the advice for people over 70 but who do not have risk factors.
