Today, Wednesday, 147 new deaths are reported, after 57 new deaths on Tuesday.
State epidemiologist Anders Tegnell says this follows the trend seen during spring.
– We have quite low numbers during the weekends until Tuesday and Wednesday there are more cases, says the state epidemiologist and then adds:
– So it’s a pretty stable curve that continues as before.

Half of all deaths in Sweden have so far been reported in the Stockholm region, but the proportion is declining.

Less pressure on healthcare.
Taha Alexandersson, Assistant Manager for Emergency Response at the National Board of Health and Welfare, says that despite the great pressure on medical care, some regions are now seeing the situation as improving.
– We have a third of the regions that forecast an improvement in the short term and half of them also forecast it in the long term, she says.
The National Health Board has also seen requests from regions for support needs have decreased since April, according to Taha Alexandersson.
– It shows that it ensures the equipment and the support in different ways to resort to the national level, she says.
Karin Flyckt, an expert in the analysis department of the National Board of Health, and Anneli Bergholm Söder, head of the MSB’s operational department, also participated in today’s press conference.
