Wednesday morning did not offer a more pleasant spring weather. Instead, the morning came with cold temperatures, rain and snow in some places.
– As it seems now, it is a very cold air that covers the country. Thanks to the low pressure, we have received a mix of rain and snow, says Lasse Rydqvist, a meteorologist at the Storm meteorological institute.
The reason for the cold is said to be low pressure in the Arctic that spread across the country. In parts of Gävle and south of Dalarna, the cold has given up to five inches of snow in the morning.
Warmer in southern Sweden
But Wednesday’s peak hour is not expected to be lasting.
The rain area heads east during the afternoon. After that, clear weather and the possibility of sun will follow, although temperatures will remain low.
– In the next few days, the country’s highest temperatures in southern Sweden are likely expected to drop between twelve and fourteen degrees maximum, Lasse Rydqvist says.
Up to 20 degrees next week.
For those who long for warmer days, there is also good news in sight. Already next week, an area of warm air is expected to enter, and this gives you the opportunity for a very good ascension of Christ.
– Thursday or Friday it seems that we can get a new heat from Europe. Now we are no longer talking about 15 degrees or so, but if this heat reaches us it would mean that we will rise to twenty, or a little more than twenty degrees, says the meteorologist.
If the forecast is correct, the heat will also remain for the rest of the weekend.
– It’s a bit difficult to filter so far, but right now this heat seems to be able to stay for about four days anyway.
